National License Giving Ceremony for the first Vietnamese drivers

NATIONAL LICENSE GIVING CEREMONY FOR THE FIRST VIETNAMESE DRIVERS

The National License Giving Ceremony is a national-scale activity and will be held annually, in order to acknowledge the performance and honor outstanding motorsport drivers of Vietnam. Drivers who own the VMA official license will be recognized, trained, and fostered talent in the management system of the National Sporting Authority (ASN), as well as accumulated racing points and competitions achievements.

With VMA official license, drivers will have the chance to represent Vietnam to compete in international competitions, especially to have access to World Championships in the FIA competitions’ system. In addition to the opportunity to compete with drivers from countries with hundreds of years of automotive and motorsports history, drivers will also have the chance to learn and broaden their skillsets through trainings and coaching courses from the FIA and other ASN in the region.

For the first time held in Vietnam, The National License Giving Ceremony will honor 32 outstanding drivers, in which, 3 drivers to be granted International license; 29 drivers including 3 female drivers will be granted National license. These 29 drivers have been training and participating in grassroots motorsport races for a long period of time, and qualified through the Vietnam Auto Motorkhana Championship (VAGC) held in December, 2019 in Hanoi and Binh Duong.

The first driver to receive the FIA license – International License Grade C issued by Vietnamese Motorsport Association, Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh of Redline Motorsport Club is one of the most experienced and well-known drivers of Vietnam, with exceptional achievements: 9th place in the Muba Auto Gymkhana 2019, 18th place in the Asia Auto Gymkhana Championship 2019 for the round in Indonesia, Winner of RFC Vietnam 2014 (top 10 toughest races in the world).

The license giving ceremony will also honor 02 Vietnamese junior Go Kart drivers with great potential, Pham Hoang Nam and Bui Duc Minh. These two young talents will be granted CIK-C Junior license – International Go Kart License Grade C for ages of 12-15. After being granted this license, Pham Hoang Nam will become the first ever Vietnamese representatives to compete in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy with 3 rounds in Belgium and Italy from August to October 2020.

Drivers and guests attending the Ceremony will also visit the F1 Hanoi Circuit, the place will host the F1 VinFast Vietnam Grand Prix 2020. This has undoubtedly become a memorable experience for anyone, as they had the chance to experience one of the most modern and unique street races of F1. On the other hand, in order to mark the remarkable milestones of Vietnamese motorsports and the values created by Vietnamese people, “The Vietnamese Racing Show” was performed the “make in Vietnam” car (VinFast) and by the very first Vietnamese drivers.
