Nearly 750 artworks with over 220,000 visitors in 2018

Regular traffic reached 6,000 visitors per day for the Exhibition “Diary of a Cricket – Touch the Worlds” in January 2018.

Only in the first month of opening (July 2017), VCCA attracted nearly 43,000 visitors, an average rate of nearly 1,700 visitors/day. VCCA has become one of the most impressive art and culture destinations in Vietnam in 2018.

The launching and operation of VCCA is one of 10 outstanding fine arts, photography and exhibition events in 2017, recognized by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition (Ministry of Culture, Sport & Tourism).

It must be said that 'Foliage 2' is one of the quality exhibitions that VCCA has conducted since its establishment.

The exhibition may have partially achieved the goal set by curator Mizuki Endo: to become a new model of sharing, converging insights into aesthetic objects, making differences, meaningful 'opposition'

I visited VCCA for the first time around noon in the summer, but not because of a friend's recommendation that this place is perfect for photography.

However, once the heat gone by was the moment I got myself caught up in the extraordinary art space of ‘Foliage 2’. I realize that contemporary works of art often invite viewers to be a part of them. And the impression becomes much more intense when we stop at each artwork, dig deep into each story ... Then leave with unforgettable connections.

Lately, when I'm tired, I often take a walk into VCCA every noon or after the end of a long workday. Indeed, I appreciate every care given to the artworks, both from the artist's side and from the art center side - with the lighting system, framing, hanging pictures, spatial layout – truly give great attention to the viewers' experience.

The exhibition illustrates the story that has been around for quite sometime, but the artworks still leaves a deep impression on me. There are new, colorful combinations, with images of many characters in the same story. For me, the exhibition will definitely attract a great variety of visitors. And moreover, a whole childhood is rushing back to myself!

It can be said that this is the first time that readers can not only read but also see the Cricket and his comrades with their own eyes… That's why I said this is such a unique and interesting exhibition.
